Concord Projects is seeking an experienced Carpenter to work at various project sites to complete rough carpentry tasks and assist the Construction Supervisor in maintaining the company’s quality standards.

Skills and Experience Required 

~ At least seven years of carpentry experience on commercial construction projects

~ Ability to interpret and analyze blueprints and shop drawings

~ Thorough understanding of local building codes, safety requirements and procedures

~ High school diploma required; completion of apprenticeship program considered an asset.

The work

Reporting to the Vice President Construction, the Carpenter works closely with the Construction Supervisor to build or repair structures and components on our project sites. Some of the typical tasks of the job include the following.

~ Read and interpret shop drawings, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.

~ Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes and safety regulations.

~ Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.

~ Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, erect walls and roof systems.

~ Build and install backings, roof parapets, safety railings, concrete forms.

~ Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware.
